ABOUT THE CROWN

The Crown Hotel was first built of timber in 1884.

Michael Phelan became licensee in 1927 and remained so for 30 years, being assisted by his son Denis, in the later period. Michael’s grandson, Terrance, took over the license in 1979 following several other license-holders from 1957 onwards. Terry Phelan purchased the freehold in 1983.

In January ‘21 the Pub was purchased by Brett Neilson. The hotel was closed from March ’21 for 12 months while undergoing major renovations by BFN Developments.

The hotel is now a modern Pub with originality, historical fixtures. The Pub is now operated by some local hotel professionals with a unique menu and a wide selection of draught beers including unpasteurised Carlton Draught tank beer.
